What is Argos by Solardrone?
Argos by Solardrone is a service that gives owners and O&M teams a complete, located and traceable view of the physical state of every PV plant, and makes clear where to act. It combines drone capture with visual and thermal evidence, analysis of every finding at component level, a priority for each one and follow-up until the repair is validated.
Argos is not only an analysis software and not only a thermography report. The software, the capture protocol and the analysis work as one service, and a finding stays open until new evidence shows that it has been fixed.
Current figures
- Since 2017, more than 400 plants analysed a year and more than 15 GWp analysed.
- In measured cases where the same plant was inspected on foot and by drone, the drone found between 2 and 6 times more affected modules: plant A, 722 on foot vs 1,567 by drone (2.2×); plant B, ~1,000 vs ~6,000 (~6×), with the warranty claim not yet resolved. The two cases do not predict the result at another plant.
Who is it for?
Argos is designed for solar plant owners, IPPs and asset managers of PV portfolios in transition to operation or in operation, and for multi-site O&M providers that operate plants for third parties.
Where does Solardrone work?
Solardrone works in Spain and the rest of Europe, with projects in other markets. Availability, flight authorisations and scope are confirmed for each project.
How is the data captured?
Capture follows a single Argos protocol and is done by Solardrone pilots or by the customer's own team trained on that protocol. Where operation is authorised, a drone housed at the plant in a dock can fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS). Frequency, capture modality and scope are agreed per project. Thermal analysis follows IEC TS 62446-3.
